Help Fulfill Our Wish List!

The Dolphin Institute and its volunteers are committed to research, education and conservation of dolphins and whales here in Hawai’i. We are continuously growing in both our research efforts and in our volunteer staff.  As we expand, our daily office needs grow as well.  Below is our wishlist of various supplies that we can use to further our research and education efforts. Humpback Whale Research Programs

TDI provides opportunities for college students and recent graduates to serve as volunteers and interns on its humpback whale projects. The field research season takes place from mid-December through the end of May off the Big Island of Hawaii. Volunteers and interns are involved in data collection from our research boats as well as data processing and analysis. Throughout the entire year, TDI also offers volunteer and internship opportunities involving fluke matching and humpback whale data processing. Volunteer and internship positions are available on a competitive basis.

Hawaiian Spinner Dolphin Volunteer Programs

TDI provides opportunities for
college students and recent
graduates to participate in photo and data processing of Hawaiian spinner dolphin data. This work is conducted at our research office in Honolulu, Hawaii. Volunteer positions are available on a competitive basis.
