Participant Project: Studying Maui's Humpback Whales (2008 DATES NOW POSTED!)
Join our Project "Studying Maui's Humpback Whales" as a short-term participant. You will work alongside our field researchers studying humpback whales for two to four weeks during their winter and spring residency in Hawaiian waters. This is the best place to learn about humpback whales on their mating and calving grounds. You'll assist our researchers in surveys of these marine giants from our research vessels, hilltop observation station and in processing our data. Click here to sign up!

College-level Whale Research Internship Programs
Each winter TDI provides opportunities for a few selected senior college students and post-college individuals to serve as interns on its humpback whale field project. The internship takes place from mid-December through the end of May. Interns are involved in data collection from our research boats and at our shore-based field observation station, and they are also involved in data processing and analysis at our field house on Maui. Intern slots are available on a competitive basis.
