Before you learn about the grammar of the language that we created for our dolphins, lets learn how the language works.

We began by teaching our dolphins many different words. Some of these words were object words suchs as "surfboard" and "ball" and some were action words like "jump over" or "touch with your tail". After the dolphins learned all of these different words, we created a special grammar so we could combine these words to form sentences.
So how did we teach dolphins words? Did we use English? No. We decided to use different movements of our hands and arms for each of the words, sort of like American Sign Language.
