Using the words we created a special grammar. Some of the sentences that we signed to the dolphins ask them to bring one object to another. For example:

This means bring the SURFBOARD to the BALL. Can you figure out the grammar?
Here's how it works...
The dolphin is supposed to bring the object listed second to the object listed first.
In contrast:

SURFBOARD
|
+
|
BALL
|
+
|
FETCH | |
![]() ![]() |
|||||
This means bring the BALL to the SURFBOARD..
Both of these sentence have the same three words, but in the second sentence the word order changes, changing of the meaning. Remember the deer and the grass? It's the same idea!
