Where does my donation to TDI go?
100% of your donation goes to support research costs, daily boat
surveys, and student stipends, as well as your stay while you are
on the project. Your contribution towards your participation in
our Short-Term Participation Program, as well as travel costs and
related expenses, are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed
by law. Click here for more information on

Are there any requirements for participation?
The only requirement for enrollment in the STPP is that participants
must be at least 16 years of age. There are no specific physical
requirements; you must only have a healthy spirit and a desire to
participate as a member of a team studying whales.
What time should I book my flight for arrival to Honolulu?
All team members meet at the Kahului, Maui airport at 6:00 pm on
the first Monday. A staff member will meet you and your team there
and transport you to the research house.
