Lectures and Videos
In the evenings, you will have the opportunity to enjoy staff lectures, video documentaries about marine mammals and animal behavior, or a review of the day's underwater video research footage. Lecture topics reflect the expertise of the research staff and may include: An overview of TDI's humpback whale project; the ecology and natural history of humpback whales; Using crittercam to study humpback whales; conservation issues concerning marine mammals; principles of fluke matching; humpback whale song; behavior and cognition of bottlenosed dolphins, dolphin imaging through echolocation.
